CIAC XV Secretariat
The secretariat of CIAC spends countless hours and sleepless nights working to make CIAC as great as it can be, so here's a part of a webpage for them!
Saad is a senior studying Government at Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences. He has participated in Model UN organizations and conferences since his freshman year of high school. He first got involved in CIAS during his freshman year of college and served as a Committee Chair at CIAC that fall. Since then, he has been a member CIAC's Secretariat. Apart from Model UN, Saad is active in Cornell Democrats and Cornell's Undergraduate Student Assembly. In his free time, you can find Saad reading a newspaper, talking about politics, hanging out with friends, and cooking.
Liam is a junior studying Chemical Engineering, with minors in business and math, but has always loved Model UN. He joined his freshman year of high school and has been involved in various roles since then, and is excited to support the rest of the team in hosting CIAC XVI. Liam is involved in other areas of campus, including Social Business Consulting, the Alabi Lab, and Cornell Undergraduate Research Board. He can't wait to see everyone here in October and wants everyone to know that they should feel free to reach out!
Xavier is a sophomore studying Industrial and Labor Relations. He has been involved in Model UN since high school, and is an active member of the Cornell travel team. Outside of CIAS, Xavier is involved with the Cornell Sun, Outdoor Odyssey, Engineers in Action project team, Cornell Rock Climbing Club, works as a videoboard operator for live sporting events, and is a Cornell Tradition fellow. In his free time, Xavier enjoys playing guitar, producing electronic music, and hiking with friends.
Jemma is a sophomore studying Human Development. She has been involved with Model UN throughout high school, and is very excited to continue at the collegiate level in both hosting conferences and competing on the travel team. Outside of MUN, Jemma is a part of Cornell's Club Field Hockey team, an ambassador for the College of Human Ecology, and a member of her sorority on campus. In her free time, Jemma can be found reading, spending time with friends, or hanging out at her favorite coffee spot on campus.
Charlie is a sophomore studying Environment & Sustainability at the College of Arts & Sciences with a concentration in Environmental Policy and Governance and a minor in Public Policy. He has been involved with Model UN since his junior year of high school, and at Cornell is involved with CIAC, CMUNC, and the CIAS travel team. Outside of MUN, he is a member of Design Connect, Residential Sustainability Leaders, and the Cornell Chamber Flute Ensemble. In his free time, he enjoys learning new languages, playing, composing, and listening to all types of music, and scrolling on Pinterest.
Lucia is a senior studying Industrial and Labor Relations at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, with minors in Law and Society and Information Sciences (Info Ethics, Law, and Policy). She's been involved in Model UN since freshman year of high school, and has had experience in a variety of positions. Outside of MUN, she spends her time promoting Cornell through Big Red Ambassadors, stressing about readings, and working as a Speech and Debate coach for the Yang-Tan Institute. Lucia's excited for delegates to come to Ithaca and experience CIAC!
Caroline is a junior planning to study Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. She has taken part in Model UN throughout high school as well as in CIAS and CIAC at Cornell. In addition to MUN, Caroline is involved in the Association of Computer Science Undergraduates and enjoys drawing and swimming.
Sophia is a senior at Cornell studying Industrial and Labor Relations with minors in business and inequality studies. This is her second year serving on Secretariat for CIAC, and she is super excited to continue working for CIAC to make this year even better. Outside of CIAC, Sophia participates in the Cornell Compensation Club and Big Red Yoga, and loves to explore Ithaca!
Jing is a junior studying Industrial and Labor Relations and minoring in Business. She has been involved in Model UN since freshman year of high school, gaining valuable experience through competing in various conferences and serving in leadership roles. Outside of MUN, Jing is involved with APO and enjoys spending time with friends, going on boba runs, and vibing to good music. She loves traveling to experience new cultures, keeping up with current events, and playing the daily NYT games. Jing is excited to help plan CIAC and make it a memorable experience for everyone!
